Award Winning

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER IN POOLE, DORSET.

As an award winning newborn photographer here in Dorset, and a mum of seven myself, I know just how quickly those first few weeks fly by.

One moment you’re soaking up the sleepy cuddles and tiny newborn stretches, and the next your baby has changed completely. The newborn stage is so brief, and it deserves to be captured in a way that feels calm, safe and truly special.

The best time for newborn portraits is usually within the first 7 to 21 days after birth, when babies are still naturally sleepy, curly, and happiest being gently settled into those cosy, womb-like poses.

If your baby has already arrived, don’t worry, simply get in touch as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to fit you in while they’re still in that snuggly stage.

Newborn photography is a real art. It’s not about rushing or forcing poses, it’s about understanding your baby and responding to their cues.

With years of experience, gentle hands and a calm studio space, I’ll keep your little one safe, comfortable and settled throughout. Add in soft fabrics, beautiful light, and carefully chosen props, and we’ll create timeless images you’ll treasure for years to come.

What to Expect From Your Newborn Session

Your newborn session takes place in my cosy Wallisdown studio in Poole and usually lasts between 2 to 4 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, changing, cuddles, and soothing with absolutely no pressure. Everything is baby-led, if your newborn needs a break, we simply pause and follow their pace.

We’ll capture a gorgeous mix of images, including softly posed portraits on the table, wrapped and cosy setups in props such as bowls and baskets, and those beautiful close-up detail shots parents love most.

Tiny fingers and toes, soft eyelashes, perfect lips, and all the little features you never want to forget. Every prop and pose is chosen carefully with safety as the number one priority, so your baby is always supported, warm and secure.

These sessions are calm, gentle and designed to feel like a lovely experience, not a stressful one. You relax, soak it all in, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Secure your session with a £47 session fee. This fee secures your preferred time and date and includes your photography session experience in our Poole Studio. WHAT TO EXPECT & FAQ’S

We honestly can’t wait to welcome you and your new baby to the studio. As a mum myself, I know those first few days and weeks can feel like a total blur  so your newborn session is designed to be a calm, relaxing experience where you can just sit back, have a proper cup of tea (while it’s still hot!) and enjoy watching your little one being photographed.

Here’s a little bit about how it all works and what to expect…

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK A NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT?

It’s best to book your newborn session while you’re still pregnant, ideally after your 20-week scan. That way, I can make sure I have space around your due date.
We’ll pop you in the diary around 2 weeks after your date but please do get in touch when you can to let us know baby has arrived and if we need to move your date its no problem.

WHEN SHOULD NEWBORN PHOTOS BE TAKEN?

The ideal time for newborn photos is when baby is between 7 and 21 days old. During this stage they’re still sleepy, snuggly, and love to curl up in those gorgeous womb-like poses.
If your baby is already here don’t panic! Just get in touch as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to fit you in.

HOW LONG DOES A NEWBORN SESSION LAST?

Sessions usually last between 2 – 4 hours at my cosy baby-friendly studio in Wallisdown, Poole.
This gives us plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, and settling without any rush. Every baby is different, and the whole session goes at their pace  if they need a feed or a snuggle, that’s exactly what we’ll do.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SESSION?

We’ll start with those classic sleepy poses on the table before moving on to a few prop setups think soft wraps, little buckets, and beautiful textures.
I’ve got a full collection of props, wraps and accessories at the studio, and I’ll choose what suits your baby and your style best.

CAN WE HAVE FAMILY OR SIBLING PHOTOS TOO?

Absolutely! These first family photos are so special, and I always encourage you to jump in for a few shots.
If you’ve got older children, we’ll plan their part of the session at the start or end so it’s fun and relaxed for them. Pets are welcome too if you’d like them involved!

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?

Just bring your usual baby essentials milk, nappies, spare clothes and anything that comforts your little one.
If you have any special keepsakes (like a blanket knitted by Nan or a favourite teddy), bring those too  I love adding personal touches to your photos. Everything else, from wraps to props, is already here waiting for you.

WHEN WILL WE SEE OUR IMAGES?

After your session, we’ll book in a viewing appointment (usually within 7–10 days) where you’ll get to see your finished gallery and choose your favourites.
You’ll also get a little product guide beforehand so you can have a think about what you might like whether that’s a wall piece, album or digital collection.

HOW MUCH SHOULD WE EXPECT TO SPEND?

There’s absolutely no pressure to buy anything you don’t love, but most families tend to invest between £300–£500 on their chosen products.
You’ll find something for every budget, from individual prints and digitals to luxury wall art and albums. Payment plans are available if you’d like to spread the cost we’ll chat through everything at your viewing.

A FINAL NOTE

Your newborn session is all about celebrating your baby and making memories that will last a lifetime. My aim is for you to leave feeling relaxed, happy, and completely in love with your images.

If you’d like to have a chat before booking, just drop me a message, I’m always happy to talk through how it all works.
