WHAT IS NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY?

As a newborn photographer in Dorset, and as a mum of 7 children, know that those early days are precious and fleeting. The first couple of weeks are the very best time to create beautiful portraits of your new baby whilst they are still tiny & curled from birth, sleepy and not too nosey and interested in the world around them!

Newborn photography is a genre of photography which only a few very specially trained photographers practice well. To work with your new baby, to understand their mood, their reflexes and their needs, while working with them safely and calmly, is something that takes experience. Add in perfect portrait lighting and some beautiful props and fabrics, and you have a newborn photographer who can achieve the most beautiful images of your newborn baby.

What to expect from your

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

As well as posed newborn photography, we also include beautiful images in a variety of props like bowls, buckets and baskets. We choose the props we use in newborn photography very carefully, making sure that they are safe, comfortable, look great in photographs and parents love them!

We also love to capture the details of your baby – those tiny fingers and toes, long lashes and button nose. As newborn photographers in Bournemouth, we know that these details can get forgotten but they will be with you forever when you capture them in photography.

How it works

Newborn sessions are best for babies up to 21 days, when they naturally still fall asleep in those curled up positions.

If your baby has already arrived, that is okay just please make contact as soon as possible so we can get you in within the ideal window.

All newborn sessions last up to 4 hours in the cozy studio in Wallisdown, Poole, Dorset.

We will capture your little one in a variety of poses on the bean bag that simulate being in the womb. Your baby will love feeling safe and secure, posed the way they were when they were growing inside you. Your baby dictates the pace of your session. If she wants to stop for a feed a cuddle then that’s exactly what we will do!
